Join world leading researchers, gifted comedians, and professional science communicators as they battle wits and wittiness to uncover the top science stories of 2016 – and some of the quirkier ones, too!

Meet Genderbrain’s Josien de Bie at Speed Meet a Scientist

It’s not a dating thing! It’s a rare chance for anyone, including families, to talk with researchers and scientists and ask questions about their work. Sit down and chat with an astronomer, an astrobiologist, a quantum physicist or a dozen more assorted scientists.

It’s free but bookings are required.

@GeekinSydney invited us to ‘Science in a Lunchtime’ at Mosman High School. After my talk ‘Can your brain get a cold? (and is it the same for girls and boys?)’ these awesome kids were full of questions and said ‘braaaains!’ for the camera.

We were at The Science Nation’s ‘Great Debate’ singing the praises of unsung hero Nettie Stevens who discovered X and Y chromosomes. There was a ukelele present and there may have been a song called ‘why why why Nettie Stevens’.
